MBB Minute – On Monday night both No. 3/3 UConn and Seton Hall cruised to victories to improve to 3-0 on the season. In the third game of the evening, Xavier fell to Santa Clara despite a career-night by Roddie Anderson III.
 
UConn 89, Columbia 62 - Box Score
Solo Ball scored 23 points and Alex Karaban had 20 as UConn moved to 3-0 with a win. The Huskies connected on nearly 57% shooting for the game, scoring 40 of 89 points in the paint.  Tarris Reed added 19 points and eight boards and Silas Demary Jr. dished out nine assists.  UConn made 10 3-pointers, including three apiece from Ball and Jayden Ross.
 
Seton Hall 82, Fairfield 59 - Box Score
AJ Staton-McCray scored 13 points and freshman Najai Hines posted his first collegiate double-double with 10 points and 10 boards. Offensively, eight different players had at least eight points. The Pirates' 20-8 second half run put the game out of reach, holding Fairfield under 60 points.  Through the first three games of the season, Seton Hall is holding opponents to 56.7 points per outing.
 
Santa Clara 87, Xavier 68 - Box Score
Roddie Anderson III poured in a career-high 29 points, knocking down 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, and Tre Carroll added 21 against Santa Clara at the Cintas Center on Monday night.  It marked the first loss of the season for the Musketeers.
