Teneisia Brown finished with 12 points and 14 rebounds for her 32nd career double-double, while Audrey Shields scored 10 points on 5-for-8 shooting. As a team, Providence grabbed 55 rebounds, the most since 2013. The Friars recorded 18 assists on 27 made field goals.

Huskies, Gamecocks To Meet in 2026
UConn and South Carolina will face each other in the 13th annual Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase on Nov. 24, 2026. The last time the two teams met was the 2025 NCAA Championship, where UConn claimed its 12th national title. The Huskies are 11-5 against the Gamecocks all-time.
Strong, Timm Split Women’s Basketball Awards
UConn sophomore forward Sarah Strong averaged 21.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in a 2-0 week in wins over #20 Louisville and Florida State to be named the BIG EAST Player of the Week. DePaul freshman guard Ally Timm averaged 20.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 assists in a 1-1 week with a 92-54 victory over Valparaiso and a loss to MWC preseason favorite UNLV.
Marquette Defeats Wisconsin in Overtime Thriller
In the renewed I-95 rivalry, Marquette held its Big Ten opponent, Wisconsin, to just three points in overtime as the Golden Eagles recorded the win last week. Skylar Forbes led all players with 19 points on 6-for-11 shooting, to go with four assists and three blocks. Lee Volker followed with 12 points and Jaidynn Mason with 11 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks. Halle Vice grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds, including 11 on the defensive end. Marquette’s victory ties the all-time series record at 13-13 in the team’s first meeting since December 2017. Marquette has won four straight games over Wisconsin dating back to Dec. 6, 2015.
2-0 Musketeers
Xavier opened the 2025-26 season undefeated with wins over New Haven (53-46) and Purdue Fort Wayne (62-61). Against PFW, Mariyah Noel led Xavier with 22 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double in a game that saw six ties and four lead changes. The Musketeers start the year 2-0 for the first time since the 2022-23 season.
