Creighton Secures Friday Night Victory; Six Games Slated for Saturday

Standings | Stats

MBB Minute – Creighton posted its largest margin of victory in two seasons, while DePaul and Northwestern went toe-to-toe in a crosstown rivalry game at WinTrust on Friday night.  Providence and Xavier fell in their first true road tilts of the season.
----
Creighton 84, Maryland-Eastern Shore 45 - Box Score
The Bluejays scored the first 12 points of the game and never looked back in the blowout win.  Three players reached double figures, led by 14 points and nine rebounds from Blake Harper. Jasen Green also tallied 14 points, while Josh Dix added 10.  Creighton's 39-point margin of victory was its largest since Dec. 9, 2023
Northwestern 81, DePaul 79 Box Score
Two Northwestern free throws with less than four seconds left proved to be the difference in the Chicagoland rivalry game.  Kruz McClure's 15 points was the most by a DePaul true freshman since 2020, while Layden Blocker added 14 and CJ Gunn 13, respectively.  The Blue Demons held the rebounding edge, 34-25, including a 16-6 edge on the offensive glass.
Colorado 97, Providence 88 Box Score
Jason Edwards tallied a game-high 24 points, while Jaylin Sellers chipped in with 15 points and seven rebounds against the Buffaloes.  Oswin Erhunmwunse blocked a career-best seven shots, bringing his total to 18 on the season - tops in the nation.
Iowa 81, Xavier 62 Box Score
It was a back-and-forth affair through much of the first half before Iowa closed out the period scoring 11 unanswered.  Xavier got within single digits early in the second half but were unable to get any closer. Jovan Milicevic scored a team-high 15 points in the road loss.
