CU trailed by five early, but used a 14-0 run to take the lead for good. Blake Harper had his best outing of the season, logging the first double-double by a Creighton player in 2025-26, finishing with 19 points and 12 rebounds. The game also marked Greg McDermott's 1,000th game as a head coach. McDermott has compiled a 633-367 record in 31 years of coaching - including 16 at the helm of the Bluejays.
The Wildcats won a wire-to-wire affair in West Philadelphia, using a stout defensive effort to win a Big Five matchup at LaSalle. Matthew Hodge led Nova with 17 points, making 7-of-9 shot attempts. The 55 points allowed was a season-low for Villanova. Tyler Perkins had 13 points and Acaden Lewis - the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week - added 12 points and six assists.
A shorthanded Huskies squad dropped its first game of the season at home against No. 4/4 Arizona. UConn rallied back from a 13-point deficit with just over 13 minutes to play, using a 22-7 push to take a 62-60 lead with three minutes remaining. Freshman Eric Reibe earned his first collegiate start and finished with a team-high 15 points.
Marquette trailed by as many as 12 with eight and half minutes left in regulation, but used a 21-9 push to close the half and force the extra frame. The Golden Eagles were led by freshman Nigel James Jr., who finished with 18 points, five assists, and four steals. As a team, Marquette registered 21 steals - the most in a game in nearly 20 years.
