Red Storm Dominant in Home Win; Butler, Xavier set to begin MTE play

MBB Minute: St. John's crushed Bucknell on Thursday night at Carnesecca Arena, paced by 20-point performances by Bryce Hopkins and Ian Jackson.  The Johnnies have scored 90 or more points in each of the first four games of the season.

There are two BIG EAST games on tap for Friday: Butler plays at 2 p.m. ET in the opening game of the Greenbriar Tip-Off Classic while Xavier begins play in the Shriners Children Charleston Classic at 9 p.m. ET against Georgia.

St. John's 97, Bucknell 49 - Box Score 
Bryce Hopkins scored a season-high 20 points, connecting on 7-of-9 from the floor (3-4 3FG), while Ian Jackson contributed 20 points and three assists off the bench in the 48-point rout.  It was the most lopsided win for St. John's under head coach Rick Pitino and the largest margin of victory for St. John's since the 2021-22 season.  Ruben Prey added 14 points and Dillon Mitchell logged a full stat line: 10 points, 11 boards, four steals, three blocks.
