BIG EAST WBB Minute: Butler and Creighton Earn Commanding Wins; St. John’s Holds on Against Georgia Tech

Neleigh Gessert had a career-high day with 25 points in 26 minutes of work. Ava Zediker recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Allison Heathcock (15) and Elizabeth Gentry (11) also scored double figures. Grace Boffeli led all players with 11 rebounds, to go with seven points and three assists.


Butler 92 vs. Dayton 66

Lily Zeinstra led the Bulldogs with 19 points on 60% shooting, dished out six assists, and had four steals. Caroline Dotsey and Anna Wypych each scored 12 points. All of Wypych’s points came from four 3-pointers in just five minutes. Saniya Jackson (11), Nevaeh Jackson (10), and Mallory Miller (10) also scored in double figures for Butler. BU has forced its opponents to commit double-digit turnovers in eight consecutive games.


St. John’s 77 vs. Georgia Tech 75

Brooke Moore poured in a career-high 25 points, 10 of which came from the foul line, while Sa’Mya Wyatt scored a season-high 20 points and grabbed seven boards. Moore added three rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and one steal to her stat line. With 13 assists this evening, Shaulana Wagner became the first St. John's player to record double-digit assists since Tiana England (10) against Seton Hall on Feb. 22, 2020. Janeya Grant gave the Johnnies a four-point lead with a minute left (75-71), but just 10 seconds later, the Yellow Jackets made it a two-point game. The game was tied at 75-75 until there were 18 seconds left, when Kylie Lavelle made a free throw for a 76-73 lead. With three seconds left, Georgia Tech made it a one-point game (76-75), but Grant was sent to the foul line a second later to go 1-1 to seal the win.

Jaidynn Mason led Marquette with 17 points on 7-for-14 shooting. Mason hit a career-high three 3-pointers, finishing 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. Skylar Forbes added 13 points and three blocks. The Golden Eagles were outrebounded 44-28.
