NEW YORK (November 7, 2025) – On the final day of the BIG EAST conference season, all 12 teams took to the pitch at 7 p.m. ET with five teams vying for the final three spots in the four-team tournament field.
 
Following the conclusion of the six games the bracket for the 2025 BIG EAST Championship Presented by JEEP was made official.
 
Entering the evening as the pre-determined East Division Champions and No. 1 overall seed in the championship, No. 11 Georgetown (10-3-4, 6-0-2 BE) drew even with Providence (6-6-3, 4-2-2 BE), 2-2. Coming back from two goals down, the Friars earned the necessary point to secure the No. 4 seed in the BIG EAST Championship.
 
In a head-to-head battle for the Midwest Division, No. 19 Akron (11-3-3, 5-2-1 BE) outlasted Creighton (8-4-4, 4-2-2 BE) in Omaha, 1-0. Needing a win to pass the Bluejays in the standings and secure the program’s second consecutive division crown, redshirt freshman Thomas O’Rouke found the back of the net in the 63rd minute to send the Zips into jubilation.
 
Squaring off in New Jersey, UConn (10-3-4, 5-2-1 BE) tallied a pair of late goals to come from behind and beat No. 21 Seton Hall (7-3-7, 3-1-4 BE), 2-1, and lock up the No. 3 seed in the BIG EAST Championship.
 
Rounding out the scores across the league, Xavier and DePaul settled for a 1-1 tie, Villanova outlasted Marquette 1-0, and St. John’s and Butler ended in a 2-2 draw.
 
Georgetown, Akron, UConn and Providence will each head to the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, Md., for semifinal action Thursday night.
 
The Zips and Huskies will kick off the championship at 5 p.m. ET, in a rematch of an early season battle that saw UConn earn a 3-1 win on the road against Akron.
 
At 7:30 p.m. ET, the Hoyas and Friars will match up for the second straight game.
 
Thursday’s winners are scheduled to play in the Championship game at Noon ET on Sunday, Nov. 16. All three games in Maryland will stream on ESPN+.
