Vivien Nejasmic finished with 17 points on 50% shooting from the field and seven rebounds. Audia Young added 10 points in the Musketeers’ third straight win. The game featured only one lead change, as Xavier led for 24 minutes.

Savannah Catalon led the Pirates with 16 points, five boards and five steals, while Jada Eads scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Jordana Codio and Mariana Valenzuela both pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds each. The game was back and forth with Seton Hall holding a 46-43 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Both teams traded baskets until the final 1:39 of the game, when Catalon scored the team’s last two points on free throws for a 53-50 lead. Columbia made it a one-point game with 1:22 left (53-52) and then took the win with a layup in the final seconds. 
 
Villanova Named USBWA Team of the Week
The Villanova Wildcats were named this week’s U.S. Basketball Writers Association Team of the Week, announced on Tuesday. Villanova had one of its best weeks in three seasons since scoring sensation Maddy Siegrist graduated and joined the WNBA. The Wildcats pulled a stunning 81-59 upset at then-No. 25 West Virginia, opened BIG EAST play by winning 76-69 at Georgetown, and then won the championship of the Big 5 Classic at home, beating nearby Saint Joseph’s, 76-70. Brynn McCurry had a career-high 21 points in the first game, scored 20 against the Hoyas, and then came back with 21 more against the Hawks to win the title game's MVP honors. She earned the BIG EAST’s Player of the Week nod on Monday. Jasmine Bascoe averaged 21 points across the three games. Full Release
