BIG EAST WBB Minute: Novik Records Triple Double in Win; Butler Downs Indiana State #1 UConn Out West On Saturday

Kate Novik recorded her first career triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, for the eighth triple-double in program history. Michelle Ojo led all scorers with a career-high 20 points, followed by Natiah Nelson (14) and Meg Newman (10). DePaul also recorded 25 assists on 33 made field goals, for its fourth game this season with 20 or more helpers. The Blue Demons dominated the paint 48-26, matching their season high in paint points.

Butler had five players score double digits – Mallory Miller (16), Saniya Jackson (14), McKenna Johnson (13), Caroline Dotsey (11), and Addison Baxter (10). Miller added seven rebounds, four blocks, two assists, and one steal in 19 minutes of work. The Bulldogs held Indiana State to just six made field goals in the first half, for a 17.1 shooting percentage from the floor.

Huskies Travel West to play #16 USC
Top-ranked UConn looks to leave the West Coast with a win over #16 USC on Saturday, December 13. The game is set for 5:30 p.m. on FOX, with Jeff Levering and Sarah Kustok on the call. The Huskies are 4-1 against USC, most recently defeating them in the 2025 NCAA Elite Eight. UConn is off to a 9-0 start, its best start to a season since 2020-21. Azzi Fudd is currently averaging a .496/534/1.000 shooting split and ranks fourth in the nation in three-point percentage. Sarah Strong is proving why she is one of the best players in the country, averaging 17.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 3.2 blocks, and 1.9 steals this season. She is shooting a team-high 58.2% from the field. Kayleigh Heckel, who spent last season with the Trojans, has been a key reserve for the Huskies. Freshman Jazzy Davidson leads USC, averaging 16.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game.

BIG EAST to Provide Public Availability Reports for Men's and Women's Basketball
Beginning in 2025-26, the BIG EAST Conference will provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes in conference games in the sports of men's and women's basketball. BIG EAST schools will be required to submit availability reports three hours before the scheduled tipoff time.  Under the reporting structure, players will be designated as "questionable" or "out."  Availability reports will be posted on the BIG EAST website throughout the 2025-26 season. Women's Basketball Availability Reports
