No. 5/5 UConn won its sixth straight, finishing off one of the country's most challenging non-conference schedules with an eight-point win over Texas. Alex Karaban led a balanced attack with 18 points, as UConn made nearly 55% of its FG attempts. The Huskies were in control for most of the game, leading by nine at the break (43-34) and by as many as 12 in the second half. They held the to Longhorns to 37.7% from the floor for the game. Tarris Reed Jr. had 12 points, six boards, and four blocks, while Braylon Mullins and Jaylin Stewart each had 10 points.

The Musketeers moved to 8-3, extending their winning streak to five by closing non-conference play with an 18-point win over Missouri State. Filip Borovicanin finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists. The first half featured 13 lead changes and four ties but Xavier opened the second half on a 25-7 to put the game out of reach. Jovan Milicevic led X with 17 points, while Tre Carroll added 13 points, seven boards, four assists, and two blocks. Xavier finished with 12 3-pointers and rank 38th nationally in 3FG/game.

BIG EAST Men's Basketball Public Availability Reports
Beginning in 2025-26, the BIG EAST Conference will provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes in conference games in the sports of men's and women's basketball.
BIG EAST schools will be required to submit availability reports three hours before the scheduled tipoff time. Under the reporting structure, players will be designated as "questionable" or "out." Availability reports will be posted on the BIG EAST website throughout the 2025-26 season:
