The Bulldogs forced 15 Xavier turnovers, marking the 15th time in the last 16 games the team has forced its opponent to commit double-digit turnovers. Xavier’s Vivien Nejašmic scored a team-leading 24 points on 10-for-17 shooting from the field. Mariyah Noel was two rebounds shy of a double-double with 13 points and eight boards. #1 UConn, #11 Iowa to Face Off in New York
Top-ranked UConn will take on #11 Iowa on Saturday, December 20, in the 2025 Women’s Champions Classic. The game will air on FOX at 1:30 p.m. ET with Jason Benetti and Sarah Kustok on the call. Sarah Strong leads the Huskies in points (17.7), rebounds (8.5), assists (4.6), steals (3.3), and blocks (2.0) per game. The Hawkeyes are led by Ava Heiden, who is averaging 15.2 points and 7.9 rebounds through 11 games. Heiden has 21 assists, a team-leading 14 blocks and 12 steals on the season. UConn leads the all-time series (6-4), with the last meeting in the 2024 NCAA Semifinals when Iowa won, 71-69. This is the Huskies’ fourth nationally-ranked game this season.
