BIG EAST WBB Minute: UConn, Georgetown and Seton Hall Record Wins

Seton Hall had four double-digit scorers – Savannah Catalon (24), Mariana Valenzuela (16), Jordana Codio (12), and Ja’Kahla Craft (12). Catalon went 6-for-12 (.500) from the field, 4-for-7 (.571) from deep and 8-for-8 (1.000) from the line. Valenzuela pulled down 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the year. Jada Eads recorded a season-high seven assists in the Pirates’ 15th-straight win over Xavier. Vivien Nejašmic scored a team-leading 15 points and added six rebounds for the Musketeers. Meri Kanerva netted 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting. Xavier had an 18-to-16 advantage in forced turnovers.

Sarah Strong led the Huskies in points (15), rebounds (6) and assists (7), to go with three steals. Azzi Fudd had 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field, while Blanca Quiñonez finished with 12 points. The Huskies converted 29 forced turnovers into 48 points. Butler’s Caroline Dotsey and Addison Baxter scored 10 points each for the Bulldogs. Dotsey added nine rebounds, and Baxter dished a team-high four assists.

Georgetown was paced by Khia Miller with 20 points, followed by Destiny Agubata with 16 points, powered by 10 made free throws, and 14 rebounds. Laila Jewett scored 12 points while Chet Nweke rounded out the Hoyas’ double-digit scorers with 10 points. Creighton’s Kennedy Townsend led all players with 30 points on 11-for-25 shooting. Neleigh Gessert made four 3-pointers to finish with 14 points. Ava Zediker chipped in 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and one block. Creighton cut Georgetown’s lead to two in the final seconds, but the Hoyas held on for their second BIG EAST win of the season.

Sabou Gueye paced the Friars with 16 points, followed by Teneisia Brown with 11 points. Nalani Kaysia grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. The Gamecocks had six players finish with double-figure points, led by Madina Okot with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
