Tre Carroll had a career night for the Musketeers, as Xavier outlasted Cincinnati, 79-74, in the Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout Friday night. Xavier has now won 11 straight games at the Cintas Center against its rival, doing so Friday in front of a new Cintas Center attendance record of 10,890 fans. Carroll poured in 30 points on 14-of-23 shooting and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds. Filip Borovicanin and Jovan Milicevic each chipped in 12 points.

UConn won its fourth-straight game, defeating East Texas A&M, 83-59, at Gampel Pavilion. Solo Ball led four Huskies in double-figures with 14 points as Connecticut shot 52.3 percent from the floor, including a white-hot 61.3 percent in the second half. Eric Reibe continued his strong form in another start and recorded 13 points, six rebounds and three blocks, while Alex Karaban finished with 12 points.
