MBB Minute – In the lone contest Friday, Georgetown posted a homecourt win over Butler. Saturday’s schedule includes three games with all three ranked teams in action.
Georgetown used 19-point efforts from Micah Peavy and Thomas Sorber to defeat
Butler 73-70 at Capital One Arena. The Hoyas (14-8, 5-6 BIG EAST) put together a 15-0 run in the second to take the lead and hold off the Bulldogs (9-13, 2-9). Georgetown committed only six turnovers. Finley Bizjack scored a team-high 17 points for Butler. Andre Screen added 16.
Saturday’s schedule starts with No. 15
St. John’s hosting
Providence at Madison Square Garden at noon ET on CBSSN. The 15
th-ranked Johnnies (18-3, 9-1) have won 13 of their last 14. The Friars (11-10, 5-5) have won their last two games, including a 69-67 win at Seton Hall on Tuesday.
Creighton plays
Villanova at Wells Fargo Center at 1 p.m. on FOX. The Bluejays (15-6, 8-2) are on a six-game winning streak after Wednesday’s 86-77 victory against Xavier. The Wildcats (12-9, 5-5) are 10-2 at home.

Marquette at 8 p.m. The Huskies (15-6, 7-3) won all three meetings last year, including the BIG EAST Tournament title game and are 13-2 in ranked vs. ranked matchups over the last two seasons. The Golden Eagles (18-3, 9-1) have won nine of their last 10 games and are 11-1 at home.
