UConn and Georgetown Split #BIGEASTbase Weekly Honors

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Tyler Minick, UConn, So., INF (Reading, Pa.)
Minick put on a show over the weekend batting .667 with eight hits in a 2-1 road weekend against The University of Miami. The sophomore collected at least one run and one RBI in all three contests, capping the weekend with six runs and six RBI. Minick also earned three walks against the Hurricanes, while hitting a pair of doubles and blasting one home run.
 
BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Andrew Williams, Georgetown, Sr., LHP (Atlanta, Ga.)
Williams dominated from start to finish in Georgetown’s 10-0 victory over Longwood on Sunday. The senior lefty tossed a complete game (7 inn.) while allowing just two hits and no runs. En route to his first complete game shutout, Williams punched out eight Lancer batters.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Jack Bello, Butler, Jr., 1B
Bello did it all for the Bulldogs over a four-game weekend, collecting at least two hits in every game, in addition to earning a win on the mound. Bellow capped the week with 10 hits and four RBI, while pitching two innings with a strikeout.
Oliver Pudvar, UConn, R-So., LHP
In Friday’s 7-2 series opening win over the Hurricanes, Pudvar pitched five innings and earned the win, striking out five batters and allowing just 1 run.
Kavi Caster, Georgetown, Gr., OF
Caster was stellar in a 3-1 week, registering seven hits and nine RBI. The graduate outfielder hit four doubles on the week and collected a home run.
Shaun McMillan, St. John’s, Fr., DH
Led the Johnnies offense slashing .643/,722/1,286 with nine hits, two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored in a 2-2 week. The freshman also earned four walks.
Jake Francis, Villanova, So., RHP
Francis had two clutch performances on back-to-back days out of the bullpen, collecting a save and a win for the Wildcats.
