NEW YORK – Automatic qualifier UConn and at-large selection Creighton will represent the BIG EAST in the 2025 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament, announced on Sunday night during the Selection Show.
 
The BIG EAST also saw three earn bids into the Women’s Basketball invitation Tournament (WBIT), with Seton Hall, Marquette and Villanova securing postseason berths to the 32-team event.
 
UConn (31-3) is the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament Spokane Regional 4 and will face No. 15 seed Arkansas State on Saturday in Storrs, Conn. This is the eighth time the Huskies have been selected as the 2 seed. The team will compete in their 36th-straight NCAA Tournament, dating back to 1989. UConn has advanced to 23 NCAA Final Fours, including a run of 14 straight. The Huskies have won a record 11 National Championships and are 136-24 all-time in the Tournament.
 
Creighton (26-6) is the No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament Birmingham Regional 3 and will face No. 8 seed Illinois at Camron Indoor Stadium in Austin, Texas. This year marks Creighton's fourth straight NCAA bid and 11th overall. The Bluejays are 7-7 in the NCAA Tournament under head coach Jim Flanery.

In the WBIT, No. 3 Seton Hall (22-9) will welcome Quinnipiac while No. 4 Villanova (18-14) will host Boston College. Marquette (20-10) is on the road to face No. 4 Drake in the first round. All first-round games are slated for Thursday, March 20 on ESPN+. Second round and quarterfinal games will be televised on ESPN+, while the semifinals will be on ESPNU, and the finals will be on ESPN2. WBIT semifinal and final games will be played at Butler University’s historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on March 31 and April 2. The BIG EAST capped off the night with Butler (15-17) receiving a spot in the WNIT. Matchups and the bracket for the 48-team field will be announced on Monday.
