UNCASVILLE, Conn. - Kelsey Ransom scored a career-high 36 points including two free throws with 2.7 seconds to play to lift No. 10 seed Georgetown to a 58-56 win over No. 7 Providence in the first round of the Big East Women's Basketball Tournament at Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday. Georgetown will face No. 2 Creighton in the quarterfinals at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.

Providence's Emily Olsen's shot to force overtime at the buzzer rimmed out as Georgetown advances to Saturday's quarterfinals to face second-seeded Creighton.
Georgetown (12-18) led by 10 points early in the fourth quarter on a 3-pointer by Ransom. Olsen had 10 points in a 16-6 run as the Friars tied the game with 59.3 seconds left to play.
