BIG EAST Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards Announced (9.15.25)

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Ariana Mondiri, Creighton, Gr., F
Mondiri had two goals and an assist in a 2-0-0 week for Creighton with wins over Omaha (3-2) and South Dakota (4-0). The forward recorded three points on a goal and an assist in the Bluejays’ 4-0 senior day win over South Dakota on Sunday. She earned the assist on Olivia Duray’s game-winner in the 26th minute, then scored the team’s second goal of the game before halftime for a 2-0 lead.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Ella Offer, Creighton, Sr., D/M
Offer guided the Bluejays to a 2-0-0 week, posting a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Omaha on Wednesday and a 4-0 Senior Day shutout over South Dakota on Sunday. She and the Jays backline held South Dakota shotless throughout Sunday’s match, marking the second consecutive game Creighton has held the Coyotes without a shot. In total, Creighton held Omaha and South Dakota shotless over the final 146:28 of action this week.

BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Ava Yamas, UConn, Fr., GK

Yamas recorded two wins in goal for the Huskies as they defeated Rhode Island and Maine last week. In the 2-0 win at Rhode Island, the freshman earned her third shutout of the season with five saves. Later in the week, she made four saves in the team’s 3-1 victory versus Maine.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Avrie Nelson, Villanova, Fr., F

Nelson scored a brace in the 3-1 win at Penn with goals in the 32nd and 36th minutes, becoming the first Wildcat to have a multi-goal game this season. Her goal in the 36th minute was her first game winner of the season. 

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Talia Sommer, Butler, Sr., M
Sommer scored the game-winning goal and then assisted on the second goal in the 2-0 shutout versus IU Indy. She then assisted on Butler’s only goal vs. Drake later in the week.

Jaylen Vallecillo, St. John's, Fr., F
Vallecillo tallied a brace in the 2-2 draw against FDU on Thursday. The Jamaica, Queens native became the first St. John's player to record a multi-goal game this season.

Kate Kleinsmith, Seton Hall, Fr., GK
Kleinsmith made the first two starts of her career, making nine saves across two draws for the Pirates. The rookie made six saves in Thursday's 0-0 draw at Wagner and made three stops on Sunday at Lehigh.

Chioma Okafor, UConn, Sr., F
Okafor scored a goal in each of the Huskies two wins this week against Rhode Island and Maine. 

Chelsea Loeser, Xavier, So., M
Loeser scored the game-winner in the first half of Xavier’s 2-0 win over Chattanooga, extending Xavier’s unbeaten streak to five matches. The goal was her third of the season, and her second game-winner, giving her six points on the season.

Brooklynn Miltenberger, Xavier, Jr., D
Miltenberger played 46 minutes on the back line of Xavier’s 2-0 win over Chattanooga, helping extend the Musketeers’ unbeaten streak to five matches. Xavier finished with a 25-3 advantage on shots overall and a 7-2 advantage on shots on-frame as the Musketeers picked up their third shutout of the season.
