Three Teams Split 2025 BIG EAST Field Hockey Weekly Awards (9.16.25)

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Peyton Rieger, Temple, Sr., M/F
Rieger delivered both game-winning goals to lead Temple past Lafayette and Lehigh. The senior midfielder/forward scored in the first quarter of a 1-0 win over Lafayette and added another early goal in a 4-1 victory against Lehigh.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Serena Langendoen, Old Dominion, So., D
Sophomore defender Langendoen anchored the Old Dominion defense and added a hat trick in a 7-0 shutout win over Wagner.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Diane Saint Martin, Liberty, Fr., GK
Saint Martin posted a shutout in No. 6 Liberty’s 1-0 win at UAlbany and followed with a career high eight saves in a 3-1 loss at No. 2 North Carolina. The freshman goalkeeper finished the week with nine saves and a 1.01 goals-against average.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Dara Semmartin, Liberty, So., D
Semmartin recorded one goal and a defensive save in a 3-1 loss at No. 2 North Carolina and helped Liberty to a 1-0 shutout win over UAlbany.
 
Josie Painter, Old Dominion, R-Fr., F
Painter registered two goals in Old Dominion’s 7-0 win over Wagner.
 
Bo Martina, Providence, Jr., M
Martina scored in both of Providence’s games last week, including the game-winner against Bryant.
 
Francisca Eschoyez, Quinnipiac, Fr., D
Eschoyez tallied two goals and an assist over the weekend, including the game-winner in Quinnipiac’s 3-2 victory over Columbia.
 
Colleen Finnan, Villanova, Jr., Forward
Finnan scored in back-to-back games for Villanova, netting a goal in a 3-0 win over La Salle and adding another in a 2-1 overtime loss to Hofstra.
