Three Teams Split 2025 BIG EAST Field Hockey Weekly Awards (9.30.25)

 BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Lily Procaccianti, Providence, Jr., F
Procaccianti recorded six points on three goals in a 2-0 week for the Friars. She scored twice in Providence’s 2-0 win over Georgetown, marking her second multi-goal game of the season and third of her career. She also netted the game-winning goal in a 3-1 victory over Hofstra.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Dara Semmartin, Liberty, So., D
Semmartin scored in both of No. 6 Liberty’s shutout wins over UConn and William & Mary. She tallied the game-winner against UConn and added another goal versus William & Mary while helping the defense post two shutout wins.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Sophie Volkel, Villanova, Fr., GK
Volkel earned her second career shutout in a 2-0 win over Temple and followed with a strong performance in Villanova’s upset win over then ranked No. 15  Saint Joseph’s. The freshman goalkeeper finished the weekend with 10 saves and a .909 save percentage.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Lou Combrinck, Liberty, Sr., M
Combrinck posted two goals and two assists in Liberty’s wins over UConn and William & Mary. She now leads the BIG EAST in assists per game and tops Liberty with 16 points.
 
Diane Saint Martin, Liberty, Fr., GK
Saint Martin recorded five saves and earned two shutouts in Liberty’s wins over UConn and William & Mary. The freshman has posted four shutouts in her first eight career games.
 
Ava Porter, Providence, Fr., GK
Porter went 2-0 on the week, allowing no goals in 116 minutes of action. She earned her first BIG EAST shutout with a win over Georgetown and added three saves in a victory against Hofstra.
 
Colleen Finnan, Villanova, Jr., F
Finnan scored two goals and added an assist to lead Villanova to a 2-0 weekend. She netted the go-ahead goal at Temple and followed with a goal and assist against Saint Joseph’s.
 
Gemma Lysaght, Villanova, Jr., D
Lysaght anchored Villanova’s defense in wins over Temple and Saint Joseph’s, averaging 57 minutes per game and recording an assist in the 2-0 victory at Temple.
