BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Matthew Paiva, Akron, Sr., D (Toronto, Ontario)
Paiva contributed on both ends of the field in Akron’s 5-0 road victory over Villanova. The senior scored his fifth goal of the season while helping anchor a Zips defense that posted its sixth clean sheet of the year. The five-goal performance marked Akron’s highest-scoring BIG EAST match in program history.

Kaminski made five saves and did not allow a goal across 90 minutes as Akron blanked Villanova, 5-0, on the road. The junior stopped all five shots on goal he faced to earn his sixth shutout of the season. His five saves were the most he has recorded in any of his clean sheets this year.

Simpson made six saves to help Marquette secure a 2-1 road victory at St. John’s. The junior stopped six of the seven shots on goal he faced, including a pair of headers from inside the six-yard box, while earning his ninth victory of the season.
