NEW YORK – UConn sophomore guard Allie Ziebell collected her first BIG EAST Player of the Week honor of the season. Creighton freshman guard Neleigh Gessert earned her second BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. 

UConn's sophomore forward Sarah Strong, Marquette junior guard Halle Vice, St. John's junior forward Daniela Abies, Seton Hall junior guard Savannah Catalon, and Villanova sophomore guard Jasmine Bascoe were named to this week's honor roll.

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Allie Ziebell, UConn, So., G 

Ziebell averaged 22.0 points on a .667/.632/.800 shooting split in wins over Xavier and No. 15 Tennessee. She tied UConn's record for most made threes in a game (10) and set the UConn record for most points in a game by a reserve player (34) in the 97-39 victory versus the Musketeers. She ended the week with 10 points in the 96-66 win against Tennessee.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Neleigh Gessert, Creighton, Fr., G
Gessert averaged 16.5 points in a 2-0 week against St. John's and Seton Hall. Gessert started the week with 17 points on 46% shooting in the team's 81-51 win over St. John's. In the 72-66 victory at Seton Hall, Gessert paced the Bluejays with 16 points, including 12 points from deep, to go with two assists, one block and one steal.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Sarah Strong, UConn, So., F

Strong averaged 25.5 points on 62% shooting from the field, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in another 2-0 week for the Huskies. In the 97-39 win against Xavier, Strong finished with 25 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals. She finished the week with 26 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks in the 96-66 win over the Lady Vols.

Halle Vice, Marquette, Jr., G
Vice averaged a double-double last week with 15.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game in a pair of wins for Marquette over DePaul (74-73) and Georgetown (67- 59).
 
Daniela Abies, St. John's, R-Jr., F
She led the squad, posting her second double-double of the season, 12th of her career, with a season-high 16 points and 11 rebounds in the 62-57 victory over Providence. The forward also tallied two assists against the Friars.
 
Savannah Catalon, Seton Hall, Jr., G
Catalon averaged 16.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in a 1-1 week. She went 11-for-13 from the charity stripe in the two contests. Catalon had 17 points, five rebounds and three steals in Thursday's 58-52 win at Georgetown, followed by a 15-point, 3-steal performance versus Creighton.
 
Jasmine Bascoe, Villanova, So., G
Bascoe averaged 24.5 points and 5.5 assists in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats. In the 83-68 victory versus Providence, she finished with 22 points, three rebounds, six assists and two steals, followed by 27 points and five assists in the 69-56 victory over DePaul.
