BIG EAST Player of the Week
Angelina Benitez, So., OF, Seton Hall
Benitez led Seton Hall to a 5-0 record at the Paladin Invitational, hitting .524 with six runs scored and nine RBI. She opened the week with two hits, two runs, and the game-winning RBI in Friday’s 10-9 victory over West Georgia. She again played a vital role in Saturday’s 8-7 win over Winthrop, contributing three hits, two RBI, and a run.
BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Catherine Larson, Fr., P, Georgetown
Larson continued her standout rookie campaign with a 1.37 ERA and 2-0 record this week, highlighted by a five-inning no-hitter. In Saturday’s 8-0 five-inning victory over Drexel, Larson struck out five without allowing a hit. In Sunday’s 4-3 (10) win over the Dragons, the freshman tossed 5.2 innings and struck out two.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Keegan Mayhue, Fr., DP, Creighton
Mayhue posted a .323 batting average while leading the Bluejays with a double, three home runs, and nine RBI on .938 slugging at the Colorado Classic. She logged a three-run homerun in Friday’s setback to Northern Colorado. The freshman then went 3-for-5 with a career-high six RBI while recording the first multi-home run game of her career in the Bluejays 20-11 record-setting win over Northern Colorado. She launched her first collegiate grand slam followed by a solo home run and an RBI double to lead the Bluejays to victory.
Honor Roll
Kaitlyn Breslin, Jr., OF, UConn
Breslin recorded one double, three home runs, and seven RBI while hitting .375 at the Liberty Invitational.
Brianna De La Fuente, Providence
De La Fuente hit .438 over five starts, with two doubles, one home run, and five RBI, posting a .526 on-base percentage and .750 slugging percentage.
Ana Serafinko, Sr., P, St. John’s
Serafinko posted a 1.83 ERA and 1-1 record this week, striking out 22 over 15.1 innings.
Kyra Kreuscher, Sr., P, Seton Hall
Kreuscher owned a 1.97 ERA and 1-0 record in five appearances, striking out 10 across 10.2 innings of work.
Maddie Burrows, Villanova
Burrows posted a .428 batting average with three doubles and a triple, accumulating three RBI and five runs.
