NEW YORK – Marquette junior forward Skylar Forbes collected her first BIG EAST Player of the Week honor. Butler freshman guard Anna Wypych earned her first BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. 

Butler redshirt sophomore guard Saniya Jackson, UConn graduate student guard Azzi Fudd, Creighton graduate student forward Grace Boffeli, Providence graduate student guard Sabou Gueye, and Villanova sophomore guard Jasmine Bascoe were named to this week’s honor roll.

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Skylar Forbes, Marquette, Jr., F

Forbes averaged 21.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks per game in leading the team to wins over Xavier (77-65) and Providence (69-65). She scored 19 points against the Musketeers, with 12 of the 19 coming in the first half, helping give MU a six-point lead at the half. She then totaled a team-high 24 in Marquette’s road win at Providence. Her 24 points were her second-most in a game this season and were two shy of her career high.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Anna Wypych, Butler, Fr., G
Wypych was spectacular in a 2-0 week for the Dawgs, averaging 14.5 points, two rebounds and two assists. Against DePaul, Wypych poured in a career-high 21 points and added three assists, one rebound and one steal in 28 minutes of action to help lift Butler to the 71-64 victory. The freshman chipped in eight points, three rebounds and one assist as Butler took down Seton Hall, 62-55 on Sunday.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Saniya Jackson, Butler, R-So., G

In a 2-0 week for the Bulldogs, Jackson averaged a double-double, posting 12.0 points and 11.0 rebounds. Over the course of the week, Jackson pulled down 19 defensive rebounds to go with three offensive boards. Jackson was 10-for-11 from the floor during the week and was 3-for-4 from behind the arc.

Azzi Fudd, UConn, Gr., G
Fudd averaged 19.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.0 steals per game in wins against Georgetown (84-52) and St. John’s (85-49). She had 24 points with six three-pointers, five rebounds, four assists and four steals vs. Georgetown. She rounded out the week with 14 points at St. John's.

Grace Boffeli, Creighton, Gr., F 
Boffeli posted 20 points and 10 rebounds in the 73-71 win at Xavier, scoring 13 points and to go with four offensive rebounds in the fourth quarter to aid in the Bluejays comeback victory. In the wins over Providence and at Xavier, Boffeli averaged 12 points, 8.0 rebounds, and dished out 3.5 assists. Her five assists against Providence equaled a career best.
 
Sabou Gueye, Providence, Gr., G
Gueye averaged 16.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per game, while shooting 45.2 percent from the field. In the game against Marquette, she became one of only three BIG EAST players in the last 15 years to record 20-or-more points, nine rebounds, five assists and three blocks during a BIG EAST game.

Jasmine Bascoe, Villanova, So., G
Bascoe led the Wildcats to an 82-52 win at Seton Hall with 28 points, five rebounds, seven assists and eight blocks.
