Creighton Sweeps BIG EAST Softball Weekly Awards

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Lily West, Sr., C, Creighton
West boasted a blistering .714 batting average and 1.143 slugging percentage while collecting three doubles, a home run, seven RBI, and six runs scored in the Bluejays three-game series sweep at Seton Hall. She went 5-for-6 in Friday’s BIG EAST opener, contributing a double, two RBI, and three runs scored, surpassing 200 career hits and 100 career RBI in the victory. In the next game, she went a perfect 4-for-4, matching her career-high with two doubles, a home run, two runs scored, and five RBI. In the final game of the weekend, West drove in the game-winning run.

BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Brooklyn Patchen, Jr., P, Creighton
Patchen recorded a 1.91 ERA and 1-0 record while striking out three and limiting her opponents to just nine hits in 7.1 innings of work.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Zoey Greenwood, Fr., OF, Creighton
Greenwood went 6-for-13 (.462) with two doubles, a triple, five RBI, and seven runs scored while starting all three games in left field for the Bluejays. She went 3-for-5 with a double, a walk, and three runs scored in Friday’s 20-10 slugfest. On Saturday, the freshman went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, and career-high four runs scored plus five RBI in Creighton’s 15-3 run-rule victory.

Honor Roll
Makena Alexander, Jr., INF, Butler
Alexander led Butler this weekend, going 6-for-11 (.545) with two runs scored, a double, a home run, and nine RBI at the Cathi Maynard Invitational.

Cat Petteys, So., INF, UConn
Petteys owned a .556 batting average with one double, two home runs, three RBI, and three runs scored, posting a 1.333 slugging percentage in two games against St. John’s.

Morgan Rogers, Jr., OF, DePaul
Rogers hit .666, extending her hit streak to seven games and notching five-straight multi-hit outings. Four of her eight hits were doubles including an RBI double that brought home the winning run in DePaul’s 7-6 comeback win against Villanova on Sunday.

Elanna Lysiak, Sr., 3B/OF, St. John’s
Lysiak hit .571 with three runs scored, two doubles, one home run, and seven RBI, posting a 1.571 slugging percentage. The senior set the St. John’s record for single-game RBI with seven in Sunday’s 11-10 comeback victory over UConn.

Maddie Burrows, Sr., 2B, Villanova
Burrows went 8-for-11 (.727) with four runs, three doubles, and one RBI. She recorded the game-winner in Saturday’s 7-6 (8) victory at DePaul.
