Creighton, Providence Earn BIG EAST Softball Weekly Honors

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Tara Vandewater, So., INF, Creighton
Vandewater led the Bluejays to a series sweep of St. John’s, batting .545 with five runs scored, and 10 runs batted in. The sophomore contributed two doubles and a pair of home runs, including a grand slam, while slugging 1.273 on the week. In Friday’s series-opener, she produced the game-winning run with an RBI double (W, 2-0). In the first game of Saturday’s double-header, Vandewater went 3-for-4, nearly hitting for the cycle with a single, double, and grand slam while driving in a career-high six runs and scoring a pair of runs herself. (W, 11-6). In her second outing of the day, Vandewater went 2-for-3 with a single and a three-run homer (W, 13-6).

BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Addy Frye, Fr., P, Providence
Frye owned a 2-0 record on the week, posting a 1.40 ERA with 11 strikeouts in 10 innings of work. She was credited with the win in Saturday’s 4-3 (8) extra-inning victory over UConn, striking out four while allowing just one hit to secure the road series.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Audrey Gilman, Fr., P, Creighton
Gilman led the Bluejays’ pitching staff to a series sweep of St. John’s, posting a 2-0 record with a 3.00 ERA and eight strikeouts across a pair of complete games (14 IP). The freshman blanked St. John’s in Friday’s series-opener, striking out three. She went on to register her second complete game of the weekend in the latter half of Saturday’s double-header, striking out five.

Olivia Robards, Sr., INF, Butler
Robards hit .714 with three runs scored as Butler took a 2-1 series from Georgetown on the road. She went 3-for-3 in the last game of the weekend, scoring two runs (W, 9-5).
Kaitlyn Kibling, Sr., OF, UConn
Kibling went 6-for-10 with one double, two triples, and a home run in a 2-2 week for the Huskies. The senior contributed four RBI and six runs scored in the four contests.
Kelly Greene, Sr., P, DePaul
Greene posted a 2-1 record with a 1.24 ERA this week, tossing a complete game shutout in Saturday’s 6-0 victory over Seton Hall to secure the series.
Emily Jonte, Sr., P/OF, Providence
Jonte hit .500 with six runs scored and six RBI as Providence went 4-1 on the week including a 2-1 series win over UConn. The senior logged one double and one home run on the week.
Natasha Limbani, Jr., SS, St. John’s
Limbani hit .636 with four runs scored, two RBI, and a double. She notched a three-hit performance with two runs scored in a 9-
