BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Gemma Lysaght, Villanova, Sr., D
Across two games this weekend, Lysaght totaled 11 points, including a career-best 10-point performance against La Salle on Sunday. In Friday’s season opener against Delaware, the senior recorded two shots, one shot on goal and an assist for her first point of the season. Lysaght followed with a dominant performance against La Salle, scoring four goals on 10 shots while adding two assists for 10 points. Across her 12 shots over the weekend, seven were on goal, good for a .583 shots-on-goal percentage, as Lysaght helped lead Villanova to a strong opening weekend.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Maddi Sears, Villanova, Sr., GK
Sears opened the 2026 season with a standout weekend in net, recording 15 saves, one shutout and a .938 save percentage. Sears made nine saves on 10 shots faced in Friday’s 2-1 victory over Delaware, holding the Blue Hens scoreless through three quarters and posting a .900 save percentage. She followed up with a perfect performance on Sunday, stopping all six shots she faced to earn her first shutout of the season against La Salle. Playing every minute of action over the opening weekend, Sears finished with a perfect 2-0 record for the Wildcats.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Lucy Zich, UConn, Fr., F
Zich helped the Huskies open the 2026 season with a 2-0 record, scoring two goals across a pair of victories. Zich opened the weekend with a two-goal performance in UConn’s 5-0 shutout of New Hampshire on Friday, finding the back of the net twice while putting six of her shots on target. She followed with a shot on goal in Sunday’s 4-1 victory at Saint Joseph’s, finishing the weekend with two goals, four points, eight shots and seven shots on goal.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Dara Semmartin, Liberty, Jr., D
Semmartin led Liberty in points (5) in two games last weekend, tallying two goals and an assist. The junior led the way on Friday’s season opener with a game-high two goals. She scored Liberty’s first penalty corner goal of the season in the 23rd minute, scoring into the right side. The assists went to Mia Santana and Avery Pollock on the corner. In the 43rd minute, Semmartin scored Liberty’s first penalty stroke attempt to push the lead to 4-0. In Saturday’s matchup against No. 15 UMass, she assisted on Teshawn De La Rey’s first collegiate goal, coming on a penalty corner as time expired in the second quarter to tie the game at 1-all heading into intermission. Semmartin’s assist was the 28th of her career, tied for eighth most in program history.
Serena Langendoen, ODU, Jr., D
Langendoen made an immediate impact for the Monarchs, registering one goal and one assist in each of ODU’s opening-weekend victories. She started with a three-point performance in the Monarchs’ 3-2 win over Ohio State, finding the back of the net and adding an assist on three shots. Langendoen carried that momentum into Saturday’s 7-0 triumph over Bellarmine, again tallying a goal and an assist while recording three shots, including one on goal. She finished the weekend with two goals, two assists, six points, and six shots.
Josie Painter, ODU, So., F
Painter started the season in impressive fashion, scoring just two minutes into ODU’s season opener. She also assisted on the eventual game-winning goal to finish the contest with three points. Painter followed with a four-point performance in ODU’s 7-0 victory over Bellarmine, recording one goal and two assists. She finished the weekend with two goals, three assists, seven points, two shots and two shots on goal, scoring on both attempts for a perfect 1.000 shooting percentage.
Abby Davidson, UConn, So., F
Davidson began the weekend with a three-point effort in UConn’s 5-0 shutout of New Hampshire on Friday, finding the back of the net once and adding an assist on two shots, both of which were on goal. She continued her strong play on Sunday, tallying four points in the Huskies’ 4-1 win at Saint Joseph’s with two goals on three shots, including two shots on goal. Davidson closed out the weekend with three goals, one assist, seven points, five shots and four shots on goal.
Fien Hollander, UConn, Jr., D
Hollander opened the weekend with a two-point performance in UConn’s 5-0 shutout of New Hampshire on Friday, scoring one goal on two shots, with both attempts on goal. She followed with a one-point performance in Sunday’s 4-1 victory at Saint Joseph’s, recording one assist on one shot that was on goal. Hollander finished the weekend with one goal, one assist, three points and three shots on goal.
