BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week  
Sofia Marciano, ODU, Jr., M 

Marciano totaled four points on two goals to help Old Dominion rally to a 5-4 overtime victory over then-No.5 North Carolina on Friday. Marciano scored twice in the second half, cutting the Tar Heels’ lead to 4-2 in the 42nd minute before striking again in the 50th minute to bring ODU within one.  She finished with eight shots, including six on goal, as the Monarchs scored four unanswered goals to force overtime.  ODU outshot North Carolina 15-3 in the fourth quarter and earned its first win over a top five opponent since 2021.  ODU also snapped a nine-game losing streak to North Carolina with the victory.  Marciano currently ranks second on the team and fifth in the BIG EAST with 20 shots, while leading both ODU and the conference with 16 shots on goal.  She also ranks second on the team with four goals and nine points through five games. 
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week  
Serena Langendoen, ODU, Jr., D 

Langendoen contributed five points on two goals and one assist to lead Old Dominion to a top-five win over North Carolina on Friday. Trailing 3-0, Langendoen put the Monarchs on the board with a goal to cut the deficit to 3-1 and spark ODU’s comeback.  She finished with 11 shots, including six on goal, before scoring the game-winning goal on a penalty stroke in overtime to help secure the win. Through five games, Langendoen leads ODU with 14 points, five goals and four assists, having a hand in nine of the Monarchs’ 18 goals this season.  She also ranks second in the BIG EAST with 25 shots and leads both ODU and the conference with three game-winning goals, continuing to deliver when the Monarchs need her most. 
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week  
Clarisa Iudicello, Liberty, Fr., M/F 

The sensational freshman Iudicello led the charge for Liberty in its first two home games, scoring a team-high four goals and eight points against No. 9 Virginia and Longwood.  In the Lady Flames’ 2-1 setback to No. 9 Virginia on Friday, the freshman scored the hosts’ lone goal of the day.  Iudicello scored on a cross from Luna Prieri in the 38th minute, tying the game at 1-1 at the time.  In Sunday’s 8-0 Senior Day win over Longwood, the rookie notched her first collegiate hat trick.  She scored all three goals after halftime, coming in the 36th, 50th and 58th minutes.  Iudicello and Liberty set a new program record with 51 total shots against the Lancers.  She led the team with 10 shots, with six on goal in the match.  In six games this year, Iudicello is the team leader with five goals and shares the team lead with 10 points.  Through Sept. 13 games, she is currently tied for fourth in the BIG EAST and 27th nationally in goals per game (0.83). 
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll  
Julieta Tornati, Liberty, So., D/M 

Tornati tallied three points on one goal and one assist across two starts for No. 13 Liberty this past weekend. In the Flames’ 8-0 win over Longwood, Tornati assisted Pia Iapichino’s 19th-minute goal before converting a penalty stroke in the 59th minute for her second penalty-stroke goal of the season.  She finished the weekend with five shots, including three on goal, and went 1-for-1 on penalty strokes.  Through six games, Tornati ranks second on Liberty with four goals, tied for second with two assists and tied for the team lead with 10 points.  She also helped the Flames’ defense record its second shutout of the season against Longwood, as the Lancers managed just two shots, including one on goal, and one penalty corner. 
 
Piper Cline, Providence, Jr., F 

Cline notched her first career multi-goal game to lead Providence to a 2-1 victory over Hofstra on Sunday, giving the Friars their fifth-straight win and third-consecutive road victory.  Cline scored twice, including the game-winning goal, marking her first goals of the season.  She finished the weekend with two goals, four points, four shots and three shots on goal as Providence capped a 2-0 week. 
 
Kathryn Gauvin, Temple, So., F 

Gauvin scored in both Temple’s contests over the weekend, totaling two goals and four points to help the Owls earn a 1-1 record. Against No. 19 Monmouth, Gauvin scored with 31 seconds remaining in the first half to complete Temple’s rally from a 2-0 deficit and send the teams into halftime tied at 2-2.  She followed with another goal in Sunday’s 5-0 victory over Rider, capping Temple’s three-goal third-quarter surge that broke the game open.  Gauvin finished the weekend with two goals, four points, six shots and four shots on goal, and has now scored in back-to-back games for the Owls. 
 
Natalie McKenna, UConn, Sr., GK 

McKenna anchored UConn’s defense in a 4-3 shootout victory over then-No. 17 Rutgers on Sunday, allowing three goals through 90 minutes before coming up clutch in the shootout. Rutgers made just one of its four listed attempts against McKenna, who helped the Huskies secure the win over the nationally ranked Scarlet Knights.  She finished the weekend with three goals allowed, five saves, and a .625 save percentage. 
 
Ava Borkowski, Villanova, Gr., F 

Borkowski totaled four goals and eight points to help Villanova to a 2-0 weekend, adding 12 shots with eight on goal.  On Sept. 11, Borkowski set a new career record with four goals in a single game as the Wildcats cruised to a 9-0 victory over Queens University of Charlotte. She recorded six shots, all on goal, while completing her third career hat trick and first of the season.  Borkowski’s four-goal performance helped Villanova secure a pair of shutout victories and moved her season point total to 16.  She currently leads the BIG EAST in scoring and points and tied for third in the conference in total shots and shots on goal. Nationally, Borkowski is ranked 10th in goals per game and 12th in points per game.
