BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Ellie Goldstein, UConn, Jr., F 

Goldstein provided a strong offensive spark for UConn in wins against Villanova and No. 8 Princeton, totaling two goals and four points. Against Villanova, Goldstein tallied a game-winning goal, with both of her goals coming in the second quarter, to help the Huskies take a 2-0 lead into halftime.  She finished the 3-1 victory with four shots, all on goal, and followed with another shot on goal against Princeton as the Huskies earned a 2-1 shootout victory over the nationally ranked Tigers.  Goldstein finished the weekend with two goals, four points and five shots, all on goal, and currently ranks second in the BIG EAST with two game-winning goals. 

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week  
Natalie McKenna, UConn, Sr., GK 

McKenna anchored UConn to a 2-0 weekend, allowing just two goals across 150 minutes while making five saves.  Against Villanova, McKenna allowed just one goal in UConn’s 3-1 victory before making five saves in Sunday’s 2-1 shootout win over Princeton.  In the shootout, McKenna was credited on three Princeton misses, and UConn finished the shootout with a 1-0 segment advantage.  She posted a 0.80 goals-against average and .714 save percentage on the weekend and currently leads the BIG EAST with a 0.88 goals-against average on the season. 

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week  
Lucy Zich, UConn, Fr., F 

Zich played a key role in both UConn’s wins, recording two goals, one assist and five points against Villanova and No. 8 Princeton.  To kick off conference play against Villanova, Zich assisted on the opening goal and scored the Huskies’ final goal, finishing with four shots and three on goal in the 3-1 victory.  She followed with the opening goal against Princeton, finishing with two shots, both on goal. After Princeton tied the game and neither team scored through overtime, Zich converted her shootout attempt to help UConn secure the 2-1 victory.   

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll  
Katherine Malloy, Georgetown, Jr., F 

Malloy scored in both of Georgetown’s games over the weekend, totaling two goals and one game-winning goal. In Friday’s BIG EAST opener at Temple, Malloy put the Hoyas on the board just 5:55 into the contest, scoring Georgetown’s lone goal in a 2-1 setback.  She followed with the game-winning goal in Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Rider, scoring just 62 seconds after Izzy Lee gave Georgetown the lead to secure the road win.  Malloy finished the weekend with two goals, four points, and five shots all on goal, helping the Hoyas split their two contests. 

Josefina Tomasi, Liberty, Jr., F 

Tomasi led the Lady Flames with three goals, one assist and seven points over the weekend.  In Saturday’s matchup with Miami (OH), Tomasi gave Liberty a 2-0 lead with a goal in the ninth minute.  In Sunday afternoon’s 7-2 win over App State, Tomasi recorded her second career two-goal game to lead the Flames to victory.  She opened the scoring 40 seconds into the second period, firing a shot from the right side into the left corner of the cage off a feed from Luna Prieri.  Tomasi added her second goal at the 40:35 mark, knocking in a rebound for her fifth goal of the season.  Through eight games this season, Tomasi is tied for second on the team with five goals and 12 points and has added two assists. 

Bo Martina, Providence, Sr., M 

Martina spearheaded a Providence defense that held No. 20 Old Dominion to just three shots in a 2-0 shutout victory over the Monarchs.  Martina also provided the game-winning goal, scoring just 6:07 into the match on her only shot of the contest, which was on goal. The victory marked Providence’s first win over Old Dominion since 2016 and just the second win over the Monarchs in program history.  In Sunday’s cross-city battle against Brown, Martina added an assist on the game-tying goal that sent the match to overtime. She finished the weekend with one goal, one assist, three points, and four shots with one on goal, helping the Friars go 1-1 on the weekend. 

Lonneke Kerkhof, Temple, So., D 

Kerkhof contributed to the game-winning goal in both Temple’s victories while providing a steady presence on the Owls’ back line. Against Georgetown, Kerkhof assisted Maciejewski’s deciding third-quarter goal in Temple’s 2-1 BIG EAST-opening victory, finishing with one shot on goal.  Two days later, Kerkhof scored the game-winner herself, converting in the fourth quarter to give Temple its first lead in an eventual 4-2 victory over Hofstra.  She finished the weekend with one goal, one assist, three points, and three shots with two on goal as Temple allowed just three goals across the two victories. 

Rozlyn Maciejewski, Temple, Jr., D/M 

Maciejewski totaled a team-high five points while helping Temple to a pair of comeback victories over the weekend. In Friday’s BIG EAST opener against Georgetown, Maciejewski scored both of Temple’s goals in the third quarter, turning a 1-0 halftime deficit into a 2-1 victory. Her second goal proved to be the game-winner, as she finished with two shots, both on goal. Maciejewski followed with an assist in Sunday’s matchup against Hofstra, setting up Amanda Martin’s fourth-quarter insurance goal as the Owls scored three unanswered to secure a 4-2 victory.  She finished the weekend with two goals, one assist, five points, four shots with two on goal.
