BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Matthew Van Horn, Georgetown, Sr., M (North Pole, Alaska)
Van Horn scored in each of Georgetown’s two victories, helping the Hoyas finish the week 2-0. He netted the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Evansville before converting a penalty kick in Georgetown’s 3-1 road win over No. 17 Akron. The senior now has four goals, five assists and 13 points on the season, including a pair of game-winning goals.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Nolan Brice, Xavier, Jr., D (Crestwood, Ky.)
Brice scored twice while helping Xavier post a pair of shutouts during a 2-0 week. The junior defender scored in the Musketeers’ 6-0 victory over Wright State before netting the game-winning goal in a 2-0 BIG EAST win over Villanova. Xavier limited its two opponents to 11 total shots and just three shots on goal.
 
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Devin Armstrong, Seton Hall, Gr., GK (Palm Harbor, Fla.)
Armstrong made seven saves while facing 22 shots in Seton Hall’s scoreless road draw against No. 18 Princeton. The graduate student made three saves over the final five minutes to preserve the result and secure his fourth shutout of the season. Armstrong owns a .848 save percentage and 0.88 goals-against average through eight matches.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Beckham Williams, Xavier, Fr., M (Oklahoma City, Okla.)
Williams totaled two goals and an assist for five points as Xavier went 2-0 with a pair of shutout victories. The freshman recorded a goal and an assist in the 6-0 win over Wright State before scoring again in the Musketeers’ 2-0 BIG EAST victory over Villanova. He finished the week with six shots, including three on goal.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Matthew Hudson, Creighton, Jr., GK (Marion, Iowa)
Hudson totaled 11 saves as Creighton earned a pair of road victories. He opened the week with an eight-save shutout in a 1-0 win at Denver before making three saves in the Bluejays’ 3-2 BIG EAST victory at Marquette.
 
Matthew Reed, Creighton, Sr., D (Felton, Del.)
Reed helped Creighton to a 2-0 road week, playing 173 minutes across victories at Denver and Marquette. The senior defender scored the opening goal in the Bluejays’ 3-2 win at Marquette after helping Creighton post a shutout at Denver.
 
Mateo Ponce Ocampo, Georgetown, Sr., M (Harrison, N.Y.)
Ponce Ocampo scored twice in Georgetown’s 3-1 road victory over No. 17 Akron, recording four points as the Hoyas handed the Zips their first loss of the season.
 
Joey Buchanan, Marquette, So., M (Squamish, British Columbia, Canada)
Buchanan scored in both of Marquette’s matches, netting the game-winner in a 1-0 Milwaukee Cup victory over Milwaukee before scoring again against No. 7 Creighton. The sophomore finished the week with two goals on four shots.
 
Gerard Lorente, Xavier, Fr., M (Sant Andreu de Llavaneres, Spain)
Lorente led all BIG EAST players with six points during the week, totaling two goals and two assists in Xavier’s 6-0 victory over Wright State. He helped the Musketeers finish the week 2-0 while outscoring their opponents 8-0.
