Creighton 53, Xavier 50
Neither team led by more than eight in a game which featured three ties and 11 lead changes. Defenses shined as Creighton was credited with 10 steals on the afternoon while Xavier limited the Bluejays to just three made triples despite entering the game averaging more than nine per contest. Creighton (3-6, 2-3 BIG EAST) took an eight-point lead with 5:42 to play, but neither team scored for over three minutes until Xavier (4-4, 1-3) trimmed the advantage to four, 51-47, with 2:15 to go. Creighton bumped it back up to six before Lauren Wasylson’s triple made it a 53-50 game with 30 seconds to go. The frantic final moments saw three steals and two missed shots as the score remained unchanged.  Creighton’s Temi Carda led all scorers with 18 points while Xavier’s Kae Satterfield registered a double-double of 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

Seton Hall 77, Providence 71
Each team led for over 19 minutes of the contest but it was the Pirates’ 14-0 run in the third quarter which gave them the edge in Providence on Sunday afternoon. The Friars (4-6, 2-3) led by 12 in the second quarter and carried a nine-point early into the third before The Hall’s spurt. SHU (3-2, 1-1) led the entire fourth quarter and by as many as 11 with less than five minutes to go. Providence made one final push, getting within three with 33 seconds left, but Lauren Park-Lane sank crucial free-throws down the stretch to clinch the win. Park-Lane and teammate Mya Jackson each finished with 20 points, while the Friars’ Mary Baskerville led all scorers with 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds.
