Parker, Kinley and Sis Earn #BIGEASTvb Weekly Awards

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Caylee Parker, UConn, Sr., OH (Windsor, Ontario)
UConn senior Caylee Parker wins BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Parker was ranked third in the BIG EAST with 3.83 kills per set this past weekend, doing so with the sixth-best hitting percentage in the league at .385. The Windsor, Ontario native kicked off the weekend with 11 kills on 26 swings in a three set win over Georgetown. She followed that up the next day with 12 kills on a .423 clip in a sweep over Villanova. Parked now ranks fifth in the BIG EAST with 3.50 kills per set in conference play.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Jaymeson Kinley, Butler, Jr., L (Lexington, Ky.)
Butler’s Jaymeson Kinley becomes the second Bulldog in the last three weeks to earn BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors. The libero averaged a league-best 6.14 digs per set this past weekend, highlighted by a match-high 30 digs against No. 24 Creighton on Sunday. Kinley also had 13 digs and four assists in the Butler win at Providence on Friday.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Norah Sis, Creighton, Fr., OH (Papillion, Neb.)
Norah Sis continues to be one of the top freshmen in the nation, as she notched a pair of 14-kill matches across Creighton’s 2-0 weekend. Sis led off the weekend with 14 kills and nine digs in a three-set win over Xavier. Two days later, the Papillion, Neb. native secured her 12th double-double on the year, pairing her 14 kills with 14 digs as the Bluejays defeated Butler to lock up a berth in the BIG EAST Championship.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Abby Bottomley, Creighton, Sr., L/DS (Virginia Beach, Va.)
Bottomley averaged 5.71 digs per set this weekend, the second most in the conference. After 14 digs on Friday at Xavier, the senior tallied 26 digs to go with five assists in the Bluejays’ four-set win over Butler.
 
Jill Pressly, DePaul, So., OH (Plano, Texas)
Pressly averaged 3.44 kills per set, leading the charge towards two important wins for the Blue Demons’ postseason hopes. The sophomore led off the weekend with 15 kills in a 3-1 win over St. John’s, followed by 16 more kills the next night in South Orange against Seton Hall.
 
Hope Werch, Marquette, Gr., OH (Neenah, Wis.)
Werch notched a double-double to start the weekend against Seton Hall, finishing with 14 kills and 13 digs as well as four aces in the win. One day later in Queens, she would tally 17 kills, nine assists and five service aces in a five-set win over St. John’s.
 
Ariadni Kathariou, St. John’s, Sr., MB (Thessaloniki, Greece)
Kathariou was solid on both sides of the ball this past weekend for the Red Storm, setting new season-highs in kills in each of her matches. After 13 kills on Friday against DePaul, the senior finished with 15 kills against Marquette on Saturday. Kathariou also added seven total blocks in each of her matches this weekend.
 
Carrigan O’Reilly, Xavier, Jr., S/RS (Westerville, Ohio)
O’Reilly notched a pair of double-doubles across Xavier’s 1-1 weekend. The junior had a 17-assist, 12-dig effort in the loss to Creighton on Friday. However, she would erupt on Sunday with 40 assists, 11 digs, five blocks and four kills in a four-set win to complete a season-sweep over Providence.
