BIG EAST Attacker of the Week
Julia Gilbert, Denver, Sr., A
In a 2-0 week for Denver, Gilbert had five points off five goals. The senior attacker scored two goals against then-No. 21 Michigan. Gilbert also propelled the Pioneers to a top-five win over then-No. 5 Maryland as she scored a hat trick off three shots on goal. Gilbert also added one ground ball in the win. After their two-top-25 wins, the Pioneers are now ranked sixth in the latest IWLCA Division I poll.
BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week
Ellie Curry, Denver, Sr., M
Curry totaled two goals in the Pioneers' win over then-No. 5 Maryland, included the game-winning goal. The senior midfielder had three shots on goal and added one ground ball against the Terrapins along with causing one turnover in Denver's 7-5 win over then-No. 21 Michigan.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Nicole Massimino, Georgetown, Gr., D
The graduate student had a strong defensive performance in a 1-1 week for the Hoyas. Massimino totaled nine ground balls and six caused turnovers last week. She had six ground balls and three caused turnovers against then-No. 19 Johns Hopkins. Massimino notched three ground balls and three caused turnovers in an 11-7 win over Delaware.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Tess Osburn, Marquette, Fr., A
Osburn scored the second-most goals on Marquette in the 26-4 win over Detroit Mercy with four. The freshman attacker also added one assist to total five points in the home victory for the Golden Eagles. Marquette's 26 goals were a program-record for the most goals scored by the Golden Eagles in a game.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Kate Shaffer, Connecticut, Sr., A – totaled seven points off six goals and one assist in a 1-1 week for RV UConn; Shaffer also had nine shots on goal in the two games
Lydia Foust, Marquette, Sr., M – scored a game-high five goals in Marquette's 26-4 win over Detroit Mercy; Foust had six shots on goal in the win
Riley Halloran, Xavier, Gr., A – had four points off four goals in a 1-0 week for the Xavier as it defeated Presbyterian, 14-11
