BIG EAST Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Wellington Ventura, Connecticut, Sr., Mid-Distance
The senior mid-distance runner clocked in at 50.70 in the 400-meter hurdles at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational last week. Ventura’s time ranks first in the conference this outdoor season and currently sits at 12th among all NCAA Division I runners. He also placed first at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational.

BIG EAST Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Malik Cunningham, Villanova, Gr., Jumps
At the Hurricane Alumni Invitational, Cunningham jumped 15.99 meters in the triple jump. In his outdoor season debut, the graduate student has the best distance in the triple of all BIG EAST jumpers. His distance also ranks 11th nationally. Cunningham’s jump at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational is the third-longest of his career.

BIG EAST Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Lydia Olivere, Villanova, Gr., Distance
Olivere ran a time of 9:56.57 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Duke Invitational last week. The graduate student’s time currently sits at second in the conference this outdoor season and ranks seventh among all NCAA Division I runners. Olivere’s time is also the second-best 3,000m steeplechase time in Villanova program history.

BIG EAST Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Emily Lavarnway, Connecticut. Sr., Multi-Events
Lavarnway set a personal-best in total score in the heptathlon with 5,395 points at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational over the weekend. The senior’s heptathlon point total is first in the conference this outdoor season and is 13th on the NCAA Division I outdoor performance list. Lavarnway’s performance also ranks second all-time in UConn program history.

Notable Performances
  • Connecticut’s Jenna Zyandowicz clocked in at a personal-best in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:21.95; Her time is the fifth-fastest in UConn program history and ranks 66th in the nation
  • DePaul’s Alex Bernstein set a personal record in the hammer throw at the Fighting Illini Challenge with a distance of 62.81 meters; His throw is the best in the BIG EAST this season and ranks 54th nationally
  • DePaul’s Jetta Mays ran a personal-best 11.61 in the 100 meters at the Fighting Illini Challenge; Mays has the fastest time in the conference this outdoor season and 98th in NCAA Division I
  • Georgetown’s Melissa Riggins clocked in at a 2:04.81 in the 800 meters at the Duke Invitational; Riggins owns the best time in the league this season and ranks 16th among all NCAA Division I runners
  • Villanova’s Liv Morgan set a personal record in the javelin at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational with a distance of 47.09 meters; Morgan’s distance is first in the BIG EAST, 55th in the nation and is second all-time in Villanova program history
  • Villanova’s Liam Murphy recorded a personal-best in the 1500 meters with a time of 3:41.64 at the Duke Invitational; His time ranks first in the BIG EAST and is 18th in the country
  • Xavier’s Claire Sievern set a new school record in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:26.50 at the Tennessee Invite last week
