BIG EAST Player of the Week
Lucy Olsen, Villanova, Jr., G
Facing two top-25 teams last week, Olsen averaged 33.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals. In Wednesday’s upset win over No. 22 Marquette, the junior guard reached the 30-point mark for the BIG EAST-best sixth time this season, scoring a game-high 37 points to go along with five assists, four rebounds and three steals. In Sunday’s setback to No. 21 Creighton, Olsen had a game-high 29 points while adding seven rebounds, three assists and a steal. She shot 50-percent from the field last week, including a .632 clip in the win over the Golden Eagles. This is Olsen’s third BIG EAST Player of the Week honor of the season. She ranks fourth nationally with a 23.9 scoring average this season.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Ashlynn Shade, Connecticut, Fr., G
Shade claims her fifth BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honor of the season after averaging 13.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in a 2-0 week for the Huskies. After a quiet five-point, two-rebound showing at Seton Hall on Wednesday, Shade erupted for 21 points, seven rebounds and two assists in Saturday’s win over DePaul. It marked her third 20-point performance of the season and second in BIG EAST play. Through seven conference contests, Shade ranks seventh among all BIG EAST competitors, averaging 15.5 points, while her field goal percentage (.522) and threes made per game (2.0) each rank sixth.

Caroline Strande, Butler, Sr., G – 16.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, .857 three-point shooting; matched her career high with 22 points against Providence; added eight boards and was 5-of-6 from three against PC
Paige Bueckers, Connecticut, R-Jr., G – 26.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.5 steals and .704 shooting in wins over Seton Hall and DePaul; season-high 32 points in Wednesday’s win at Seton Hall
Emma Ronsiek, Creighton, Sr., F – 19 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals in Sunday’s win at Villanova  
Kelsey Ransom, Georgetown, Sr., G – 17.5 points, 5.5 assists, 2.0 steals in a 2-0 week; 25 points, including the game-winning basket, in Wednesday’s win at Providence
Olivia Olsen, Providence, Jr., F – 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.5 blocks in a 1-1 week; 16-point, 13-rebound double-double in Sunday’s win at Butler
