UConn Sweeps #BIGEASTwbb Weekly Honors For The Third Time This Season

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Aaliyah Edwards, Connecticut, Sr., F
Edwards earns her second BIG EAST Player of the Week honor of the season after leading the conference in both scoring and rebounding last week, sparking the Huskies to a 2-0 stretch. In Wednesday’s win at Villanova, Edwards tallied 22 points and seven rebounds, shooting .692 from the field. She followed that with a career-high 33 points along with a season-high 13 rebounds in Sunday’s win against St. John’s, marking her BIG EAST-best 10th double-double of the season. For the week Edwards averaged 27.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and .636 shooting.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
KK Arnold, Connecticut, Fr., G
Arnold wins her fifth BIG EAST Freshman of the Week certificate after averaging 9.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 60-percent shooting, including a 50-percent clip from three. In Wednesday’s win at Villanova, Arnold tallied 13 points off 5-of-6 shooting, adding three boards and two dimes. In Sunday’s home win over St. John’s, the rookie guard had six points, six assists, three rebounds and a steal. With Aaliyah Edwards earning Player of the Week, UConn has now swept the BIG EAST awards three times this season, last accomplishing the feat on Jan. 1, when it was also Edwards and Arnold taking home top honors.

Unique Drake, St. John’s, R-Sr., G – 19.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals in 1-1 week; 24 points, four boards in Wednesday’s win over Xavier
Lucy Olsen, Villanova, Jr., G – 18.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.0 steals in 1-1 week; 21-point, 10-assist double-double in Saturday’s win over Seton Hall
