BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Zach Zengue, Georgetown, Sr., M (North Oaks, Minn.)
Zengue tallied three goals and dished out an assist in a 1-1 week for the Hoyas. In a 2-1 setback against Denver on Tuesday, Zengue registered a penalty kick tally. Then in Saturday’s 4-1 victory over UConn, he scored a brace and collected an assist. Overall, Zengue leads the conference with 12 goals and 29 points in 13 contests.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Sam Bjork, Seton Hall, Gr., D (Huskvarna, Sweden)
Bjork’s superb two-way play powered the Pirates to a 1-0-1 week after entering the rankings at No. 21. The wingback helped pour on the offense in the Pirates 5-0 rout of FIU, scoring the Pirates' third goal of the night on a nifty header, as well as assisting on the fourth goal of the night amid the Pirates seventh shutout of the season. Bjork followed that up by scoring the lone goal against the Villanova Wildcats in a rain-soaked BIG EAST draw on the road.
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Alex Yagudayev, Villanova, So., GK (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
In a 1-0-1 week for the Wildcats, Yagudayev made 10 saves and allowed just one goal to lead the Villanova defense. In a 1-0 win over NJIT, the sophomore keeper registered seven saves acting as a brick wall in his third shutout of the season. In a 1-1 draw against No. 21 Seton Hall, he made three key second half stops to earn the crucial point in the standings.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Matthew Hudson, Creighton, Fr., GK (Marion, Iowa)
Hudson picked up shutout number six and seven on the season, delivering critical saves in a 2-0 week. In a 1-0 win over Missouri State, he registered six saves, while facing 12 shots. Against Xavier, he notched a pair of saves and faced six shots in the 2-0 victory.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Stefan Dobrijevic, Akron, Sr., F (Uniontown, Ohio)
Dobrijevic turned in a strong week for the Zips registering a goal and two assists in a 1-0-1 week.
Aiden Benitez, Butler, Fr., F (Indianapolis, Ind.)
Benitez assisted on both goals in Butler’s 2-1 win at Oakland, and he scored an unassisted game-winning goal with 12 minutes remaining in a 2-1 win over Marquette.
Aurie Briscoe, Butler, Gr., GK (Englewood, N.J.)
Briscoe made a career-high nine saves in a 2-1 win over Marquette. Overall, he capped a 2-0 week in goal registering 13 saves with just two goals against.
Ryusei Shimonishi, Creighton, Sr., D (Osaka, Japan)
Shimonishi led the Bluejays to a pair of shutout wins, as well as provided the game-winning goal in Creighton’s 2-0 win over Xavier.
Matias Molina, Seton Hall, Fr., M (Keller, Texas)
Molina registered eight saves and allowed just one goal in a 1-0-1 week for the Pirates.
