NEW YORK – Quarterfinal action of the 2025 NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament gets underway on Saturday for a pair of BIG EAST teams, beginning with No. 14 seed Akron hosting Saint Louis at FirstEnergy Stadium at 1 p.m. ET at Shaw Field. At 3 p.m., No. 7 seed Georgetown hosts No. 15 seed NC State. Both games will broadcast on ESPN+.

The Zips (13-4-3) enter Saturday’s contest after defeating Duke in the third round 2-0 last weekend at FirstEnergy Stadium. Sophomore Remi Agunbiade netted a brace for Akron, the first multi-goal game of his career. It also marked the first multi-goal game for an Akron player in the NCAA Tournament since Marcel Zajac netted a pair of tallies in the 2018 quarterfinal against Stanford.

Akron is meeting Saint Louis for the 14th time in program history and second time this season. The Billikens lead the all-time series 7-5-1, however it was the Zips that earned a 3-0 win over Saint Louis on Sept. 23, 2025. In the last five encounters, Akron holds a 4-0-1 record.

The Zips look to return to the College Cup for the first time since 2018 and seventh time overall. Akron won the National Championship in 2010.

The Hoyas (14-3-4) are coming off a 2-1 victory in the third round over High Point last weekend at Shaw Field. Senior Zach Zengue and sophomore Mitchell Baker both scored in the triumph as Georgetown advanced to the quarterfinals for the sixth time in program history.

Georgetown and NC State have faced off three times before, with NC State most recently winning 2-0 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament a season ago. The Wolfpack also topped the Hoyas in both 1993 and 1994.

The Hoyas look to return to the College Cup for the first time since 2021 and the third time in program history. Georgetown won the National Championship in 2019.

Competing on the same half of the bracket, a matchup between the pair of BIG EAST foes is possible on Friday, Dec. 12 if both teams secure quarterfinal victories. The semifinals are scheduled to be played at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. The National Championship is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.

If both the Zips and Hoyas advance to the College Cup, it would be the first time in BIG EAST history at least two conference teams advanced to the Final Four.
