UConn, Denver, Marquette Earn BIG EAST Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

BIG EAST Attacker of the Week
Olivia Ripple, Denver, Jr., A 
Ripple totaled eight goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for Denver with wins over USC (15-3) and Arizona State (14-7). She scored five goals with three draw controls against USC, then added three goals, one assist, two caused turnovers and two ground balls versus Arizona State.

BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week
Hanna Bodner, Marquette, Gr., M 
Bodner paced Marquette in a 19-6 win over Central Michigan. The graduate midfielder scored two goals on six shots and added four draw controls, one ground ball and one caused turnover while helping control possession throughout the victory.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Abby Beran, UConn, Jr., D 
Beran totaled 10 ground balls, seven draw controls and five caused turnovers in a 1-1 week for UConn. She had four ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 10-6 win over Fairfield and added six ground balls against James Madison.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Dani Serrano, Marquette, Fr., A
Serrano had a breakout game in Marquette’s win over Central Michigan. The freshman tallied six goals and three assists for nine points, setting a Marquette freshman single-game record. She put all eight of her shots on goal, scored once on a free-position attempt and netted four goals in the third quarter alone.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Megan O’Brien, UConn, So., A
O’Brien recorded five goals, five assists, two ground balls and two draw controls in a 1-1 week for UConn, highlighted by a five-point performance in a win over Fairfield.

Landry Grover, Denver, Sr., D 
Grover anchored the defense in a 2-0 week for Denver, totaling 10 ground balls and four caused turnovers, including six ground balls against USC and three caused turnovers versus Arizona State.
 
Anne McGovern, Georgetown, Jr., A
McGovern scored a game-high five goals on 62.5 percent shooting, adding two ground balls, to lead Georgetown to a 17–9 win at Towson.
