OCALA, Florida – The Villanova women and Georgetown men lead the pack following the first night of the 2026 BIG EAST Swim and Dive Championships Presented by JEEP.
The Wildcat women picked up 252 points on the first night of competition while the Hoya men earned 80 points.
The BIG EAST Conference is hosting the 2026 edition of its annual Swimming and Diving Championships at Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training (FAST) in Ocala, Florida, in partnership with the Ocala/Marion County Visitors and Convention Bureau.
Day two will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday with the prelims of the 500 free, 200 IM, and 50 free. The men’s one-meter diving prelims will kick off at 1 p.m. Finals are scheduled for 5:45 p.m.
Villanova captured the first event of the week, winning the women’s 200 medley relay in 1:39.31. They were followed by UConn in second (1:39.59) and Xavier in third (1:40.30).
Georgetown was victorious in the men’s 200 medley relay, touching the wall first with a time of 1:26.39. Villanova finished second (1:27.99) ahead of Xavier in third (1:28.59).
Villanova’s Michelle Kasulka picked up the first diving victory of the week with score of 274.20 in the women’s 3-meter dive. Georgetown’s Liz Durgin placed second, scoring 257.95 points. UConn’s Kate Cooper rounded out the top three (253.85)
The Wildcat women went undefeated on the day, capturing the 800 free relay in 7:14.47. UConn placed second in 7:21.53 followed by Georgetown in 7:22.05.
The Hoya men swept the night’s relays, winning the 800 free relay in 6:29.12. Seton Hall followed in second (6:31.74) while Villanova placed third (6:33.97).
