OCALA, Florida – The Villanova women and Georgetown men retained their leads following the third night of competition at the 2026 BIG EAST Swim and Dive Championships. The Wildcat women seek their 13th consecutive BIG EAST crown while the Hoya men chase their fifth straight title.
The Wildcats top the women’s competition with 1,247 points. The Hoyas hold the first position in the men’s event with 585.5 points.
The BIG EAST Conference is hosting the 2026 edition of its annual Swimming and Diving Championships at Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training (FAST) in Ocala, Florida, in partnership with the Ocala/Marion County Visitors and Convention Bureau.
The fourth and final day will begin with the prelims of the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, and 200 butterfly. The men’s 3-meter dive prelims are scheduled for 1 p.m. Finals are slated for a 5:45 p.m. start with early heats of the 1,650 freestyle to be contested prior to the start of the session (3:30 p.m.).
Villanova’s Anna Kilponen won the women’s 100 butterfly in 53.45. Norah Simich (Xavier) finished second (53.98) and Anna Farley (Villanova) placed third (54.02).
Georgetown’s Owen Watkins claimed the men’s 100 butterfly with a time of 46.44. Seton Hall’s Michael Klimaszewski followed in second (46.52), ahead of Xavier’s Aiden Leamer in third (46.88).
The Wildcats grabbed the top two spots in the women’s 400 IM with Peri Gaguzis finishing first (4:15.51) and Meghan Tiernan placing second (4:16.01). Georgetown’s Heidi Wu rounded out the top three (4:18.29).
Villanova’s Justin Nowicki defended his 400 IM title, winning the event in 3:47.65. Xavier’s Connor Lathrop followed in second (3:51.19) while Wildcat Max Christensen placed third (3:51.41).
Carlota Colomer Guasch and Kayla Bolster once again represented the Wildcat women in the top two spots on the podium, conquering the 200 free in 1:48.89 and 1:49.31, respectively. Xavier’s Olivia Oyster finished third with a time of 1:49.83.
Seton Hall’s Kevin Cary repeated as the men’s 200-free victor, touching the wall in 1:36.23. Tre Cottrell (Georgetown, 1:37.06) placed second and Kyle Hudson (1:37.79) took third.
Villanova once again topped the podium behind Winnie Jalet’s 1:01.47 swim in the 100 breaststroke. UConn’s Sydney Perkins picked up a second-place finish (1:01.51) and Butler’s Kate Schilling earned bronze (1:02.19).
Georgetown swept the men’s 100 breaststroke beginning with a first-place result from Nick Pezzella who touched the wall in 53.95. Teammates Bailey De Luise (54.19) and Michael Mostofi (54.68) finished in second and third, respectively.
UConn’s Rhian Russell won the women’s 100 backstroke (54.16) while teammate Jessica Sheng placed second (54.85). Villanova’s Alana Leen completed the top three (55.04).
Seton Hall’s Balint Marosi claimed the men’s 100 backstroke with a 48.45 finish. Georgetown’s Daren Chen swam for second (48.86) while Villanova’s Cole Gorsuch took third (48.96).
Husky Olivia Denery repeated as the women’s 1-meter dive champion, scoring 268.25 points. Teammate Kate Cooper took second with a score of 263.60. Villanova’s Meghan Scott placed third (259.35).
Xavier won the women’s 400 medley relay, clocking a 3:39.09 result. Villanova finished in second (3:39.79) and Georgetown grabbed third (3:41.14).
Seton Hall secured a first-place result in the men’s 400 medley relay (3:12.79). Georgetown placed second (3:14.56) and Villanova concluded the night in third (3:16.89).
