Georgetown, Marquette, Villanova Take BIG EAST Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

BIG EAST Attacker of the Week
Anne McGovern, Georgetown, Jr., A
McGovern delivered a standout performance in Georgetown’s 18-7 win over UConn, recording a career-high nine points with four goals and five assists. The junior attacker played a role in half of the team’s scoring, leading a dominant offensive effort and guiding the Hoyas to a conference win.

BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week
Mary Moore, Villanova, R-So., M
Moore powered Villanova to a signature 9-8 win over No. 2 Stanford, recording three goals, an assist, and three ground balls. The redshirt sophomore now leads the Wildcats with 19 goals and 29 points on the season.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Sofia Santana, Marquette, Sr., D
Santana delivered a dominant defensive performance in Marquette’s 10-7 win at Xavier, recording a career-high and program-record seven caused turnovers. The senior added a ground ball, anchoring the defense.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Allie Bell, Villanova, Fr., F
Bell recorded nine saves and a ground ball to help lift Villanova to a 9-8 win over No. 2 Stanford. The freshman goalkeeper has totaled 26 saves on the season and earned starts in each of the last two games.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Olivia Ripple, Denver, Jr., M
Ripple totaled seven goals and two assists across a 1-1 week for Denver, highlighted by a five-goal, two-assist performance in a 14-2 win over Butler.
 
Sophia Loscher, Georgetown, So., A
Loscher tallied five goals, four draw controls, and a ground ball, helping lead a strong offensive effort for Georgetown in win over UConn.
 
Hanna Bodner, Marquette, Gr., M
Bodner recorded a goal, an assist, six draw controls, two caused turnovers, and a ground ball in Marquette’s 10-7 win at Xavier.
 
Katie Clark, Villanova, Jr., D
Clark led Villanova with three caused turnovers and a ground ball in a 9-8 win over No. 2 Stanford, bringing her season total to 20 caused turnovers.
