Four Teams Split MLAX Weekly Honors

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Colin Michener, Villanova, Sr., A (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.)
Michener scored a career-high seven goals in Saturday’s overtime win over Marquette, securing a bid in the BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Championship presented by Jeep. The senior scored in every regulation quarter, including a pair in the first, second and third quarters. It marked the eighth multi-goal game of the season for the senior, as well as tied for the team’s scoring high for the year.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Grayson Manning, Denver, So., G (Victoria, British Columbia)
Manning registered his 11th double digit save game of the season, and seventh outing with over .600 save percentage, in Saturday’s overtime setback against Providence. The senior collected 16 saves against eight goals allowed, capping the outing with a .667 save percentage. Manning leads the nation with a .615 save percentage, as well as eighth nationally with an 8.74 goals against average. 

BIG EAST Specialist of the Week
Jack Cooper, Providence, So., FOS (East Hampton, N.Y.)
Cooper won 12-of-18 faceoffs in Saturday’s overtime win over Denver, capping the outing with a .667 save percentage. He picked up five ground balls in the triumph.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Jake Bickel, Georgetown, Fr., M (Berwyn, Pa.)
Bickel had three goals and three assists for a career-high six points in Saturday’s win over St. John’s. It marked the second hat trick of the season for the freshman midfielder. He has 7 goals and five assists in four conference wins, as well as 14 goals and six assists to his name over the course of his first collegiate season. 17 of his 20 points have been scored over the last six games, since earning his first start on March 17.

Ty Banks, Georgetown, R-Jr., A
Banks tied a career-high with four caused turnovers against St. John’s, while limiting the Red Storm to nine goals with Banks and the other Georgetown starting unit on the field.
Liam Connor, Georgetown, Jr., A 
Connor scored three goals and added three assists in Georgetown’s 18-11 win over St. John’s to clinch at least a share of the BIG EAST Regular Season title.
Nolan Rappis, Marquette, Gr., A
Rappis tied his career-high with five goals in the overtime setback against Villanova. He scored four of his five goals in the opening half.
Richie Joseph, Providence, Sr., A
Joseph scored three goals, including the overtime tally that sealed the victory over Denver and secured a spot for the Friars in the BIG EAST Championship teeing off on April 30.
David Evanchick, Villanova, Sr., D
Evanchick totaled a game-high three caused turnovers, in addition to collecting a quartet of ground balls, in Saturday’s win over Marquette.
