UConn, Denver, Villanova Take Final BIG EAST Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

BIG EAST Attacker of the Week
Meg O’Brien, UConn, So., A
O’Brien led UConn to a 12-10 win over Marquette, recording five goals, one assist, and two draw controls. In a loss to Harvard, she added two goals and four draw controls on the week.

BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week
Mary Moore, Villanova, R-So., M
Moore tallied a season-high eight points in an 18-9 win at Butler, scoring a career-best six goals and adding two assists. She has recorded six hat tricks this season and has posted multiple points in all but two games.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Megan Klingenberg, Denver, Sr., D
Klingenberg anchored Denver’s defense, totaling four caused turnovers in an 11-5 conference win over Georgetown, helping Denver clinch the BIG EAST regular season title. The senior ranks second in the BIG EAST averaging 2.06 caused turnovers per game.

Hadley Bethke, UConn, Fr., A
Bethke contributed to UConn’s 12-10 win over Marquette with two goals and one assist. She also added a goal in a matchup against Harvard, finishing the week with three goals and one assist.
