BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Carola Tesoro, Fr., OH, St. John’s
Tesoro paced St. John’s to a perfect 4-0 record at the Iona Invitational with a league-leading 4.73 kills per set on .489 hitting. She also contributed 28 digs, a pair of service aces, and a block. Her week was highlighted by a 21-kill, 11-dig double-double in a sweep of Iona on Saturday while hitting .645. Tesoro’s contributions aided the Red Storm in registering a BIG EAST-best .313 hitting percentage this week.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Aubrey Easterwood, Fr., MB, Providence
Easterwood anchored a Providence defense that refused to relinquish a set at the Friar Classic while holding opponents to a conference-best .025 hitting percentage. The freshman averaged 1.67 blocks per frame and led the Friars with 26.5 total points while hitting .405 to earn the tournament’s Most Valuable Player recognition.
BIG EAST Setter of the Week
Juleigh Urbina, Jr., S, Georgetown
Urbina dished out a BIG EAST-best 11.20 assists per set to lead the Hoyas to a 2-1 record at the Battle of the Beltway. The junior also contributed 24 digs and five service aces. In Friday’s sweep of Morgan State, Urbina notched a double-double with 35 assists and 11 digs. Her efforts helped the Hoyas lead the league this week with 15.00 kills per set.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Isabella Sohl, Fr., S UConn
Sohl directed UConn’s offense to a 2-1 mark at the East Coast challenge, dishing out 8.40 assists per set. The rookie also registered 2.40 digs per set. She was the match leader in assists in both of the Huskies’ victories.
Honor Roll
Saige Damrow, Sr., L, Creighton
Damrow led the league with 6.50 digs per set this week. She notched a career-high 30 digs in a 3-1 victory over Northern Iowa before logging 25 against No. 5 Louisville and 23 versus Rice to become the first Creighton player since 2011 with four straight matches of 20+ digs.
Jade Dudley-Epps, Jr., MB, DePaul
Dudley-Epps totaled 33 kills on .368 hitting during a 2-1 week at the DePaul Invitational. The junior registered 17 kills on .895 hitting in Saturday’s sweep of Western Michigan to set a new conference record for overall single-match hitting.
Leonor Polezzi, Sr., S, DePaul
Polezzi averaged 8.77 assists, 2.00 digs, and 0.50 kills per set on .625 hitting in a complete week for the senior setter.
Kamryn Lee-Caracci, Sr., MB, Georgetown
Lee-Caracci contributed 3.95 points, and 3.40 kills per set on .467 hitting to help the Hoyas to a pair of victories this weekend.
McKinley Boehm, RS-So., MB, Xavier
Boehm registered 20 kills on a conference-high .630 hitting percentage, tacking on six total blocks, as the Musketeers enjoyed an undefeated weekend at the Xavier Tournament.
