NEW YORK — On Thursday, Oct. 1, the BIG EAST Conference will host its annual Basketball Media Day at the Marriott Marquis in the heart of Times Square in New York City.
One of the premier preseason events in all of college basketball, BIG EAST Media Day features the league's 22 head coaches and select student-athletes from across the conference. Comprehensive coverage throughout the event will include live interviews, press conferences, and exclusive content.
Live coverage of BIG EAST Media Day begins at 9 a.m. ET on Peacock, with Nick Bahe, Vin Parise, Tarik Turner, and Brendan Glasheen hosting the men's basketball show, while Kim Adams, Chloe Marotta, and Gabby Sartori host the women's basketball show beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET.
The BIG EAST will be the first power basketball conference to hold its 2026-27 media day, ahead of a robust preseason exhibition schedule for its 11 member institutions which is set to begin the first weekend of October. In another 2026-27 first for the BIG EAST, Villanova will usher in the start of the regular season as the Wildcats' men's and women's basketball programs play on an international stage as part of the Eternal City Tip-Off in Rome, Italy on Sunday, Nov. 1 on FOX and FS1.

Men's and women's basketball player attendees will have the opportunity to work with Campus Ink to create their own custom BIG EAST/New York City-themed t-shirt designed and licensed for sale. Invesco will once again present the BIG EAST Men's and Women's Basketball Coach of the Year award. This season - for the first time - fans will be able to vote online for the Invesco BIG EAST Coach of the Year.
The month of March showcases both BIG EAST basketball championships. From March 5-8, the 2027 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament presented by JEEP will be held at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. For the 45th consecutive year, Madison Square Garden will serve as host of the 2027 BIG EAST Men's Basketball Tournament presented by JEEP from March 10-13 at The World's Most Famous Arena.
