BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Carson Tyler, Jr., OH, Marquette
Tyler powered Marquette to a 2-0 week, registering a BIG EAST-best 5.17 kills and 5.83 points per set as the Golden Eagles swept UConn and Providence on the road. The junior hit .349 on the week while tacking on 15 digs and four service aces. She opened conference play with 13 kills, four digs, and two aces against UConn before contributing 18 kills, 11 digs, and two aces for a double-double at Providence. Tyler also went a perfect 21-for-21 in serve receive this week.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Margo Kemp, R-Jr., MB, Xavier
Kemp anchored Xavier’s defense with a league-leading 1.75 blocks per set as the Musketeers started BIG EAST competition 2-0. In a 3-0 victory over Georgetown, the middle blocker registered eight total blocks and eight kills. In a 3-2 defeat of Villanova, Kemp contributed a team-best 15 kills on .700 hitting with a match-high six blocks.
BIG EAST Setter of the Week
Luanna Markus, Fr., S, Marquette
Markus set Marquette to an unblemished opening weekend in conference play, dishing out a league-best 11.17 assists per frame while tacking on 12 digs, four kills, two blocks, and an ace. In Friday’s sweep of UConn, the freshman logged 35 assists as Marquette hit .389. Versus Providence (3-0), Markus produced 31 assists.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Gabby Semona, Fr., MB, Xavier
Semona led the BIG EAST with a .593 hitting percentage in a pair of conference victories, notching 18 kills and five blocks. Against Villanova (W, 3-2), Semona contributed 13 crucial kills while hitting .650. Against Georgetown, she registered five kills on .429 hitting.

Raegan Durbin, So., OH, Butler
Dubin paced the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week highlighted by victories over Villanova (3-0) and Georgetown (3-1). She contributed 3.43 points per frame with two blocks and a pair of aces.
Eloise Brandewie, Sr., MB, Creighton
Brandweie averaged a team-high 1.43 blocks per set and added 2.14 kills per frame to extend Creighton’s BIG EAST record win streak to 49 straight regular-season wins. She hit .556 with five kills and two blocks against Seton Hall (W, 3-0) before registering 10 kills and eight blocks against St. John’s (W, 3-1).
Katie Dalton, 5th, S, Creighton
Dalton averaged 9.71 assists, 1.86 digs, 1.29 blocks, and 0.86 kills per set in a pair of road victories over Seton Hall and St. John’s. She set the Bluejays to a season-high .433 hitting against the Pirates.
Abby Cahill, Jr., L, DePaul
Cahill anchored DePaul’s defense to a 2-0 week, including a sweep of Providence and 3-1 victory over UConn. Cahill played every rotation of both matches, setting a season-high 19 digs in the three-hour win at UConn after a near-flawless .933 serve-receive night against Providence, ranking 3rd in the BIG EAST in digs per set for the week (4.29).
Rashanny Solano Smith, Sr., L, St. John’s
Solano Smith continued to lead the league’s liberos, averaging 6.29 digs per set in a 1-1 week for the Red Storm. The senior registered match-best marks against Seton Hall (W, 3-0) and Creighton (L, 1-3) with 17 and 27 digs, respectively.
