Creighton and Xavier Advance to 2025 BIG EAST Volleyball Championship Match

Milwaukee, WI – The 2025 BIG EAST Volleyball Championship presented by JEEP concludes on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN2 when top-seeded Creighton (24-5, 16-0) faces second-seeded Xavier (26-3, 14-2) at the Al McGuire Center in Milwaukee. The victor will claim the league’s automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Volleyball Tournament.

The BIG EAST regular season champions swept fourth-seeded Marquette (25-19, 28-26, 25-23) to advance to their sixth consecutive, and 11th overall, title match. #12 Creighton looks to tie the BIG EAST Conference record for total Championship wins (11).

Unanimous BIG EAST Player of the Year Ava Martin led the match with 24 kills on .432 hitting, adding three digs and two blocks. Fellow All-Conference Bluejay Kiara Reinhardt logged nine kills on .500 hitting with two blocks. BIG EAST Setter of the Year Annalea Maeder directed the offense with a match-high 44 assists, adding nine digs and two aces in the victory. Libero Sydney Breissinger paced the contest with 15 digs.

Marquette was led by unanimous All-Conference selection Natalie Ring with 13 kills and three digs on .258 hitting. Co-Freshman of the Year Isabela Haggard dished out 30 assists with nine digs, three kills, and two blocks.

Second-seeded Xavier defeated third-seeded Villanova (25-17, 25-19, 25-18) to advance to their second overall BIG EAST Championship match and first since 2016. With the victory, the Musketeers set a program record for total wins (26).

Unanimous All-BIG EAST selection Emma Grace led Xavier with a match-high 14 kills, adding 11 digs and two blocks. Teammate Margo Kemp contributed a match-best eight blocks while hitting a match-high .500 with eight kills. All-Freshman honoree McKinley Boehm posted six kills and three blocks while hitting .308. All-league setter Macy Hatkevich distributed a match-high 32 assists. Defensive specialist Elouise Czajkowski picked up a match-best 13 digs.

Taylor Lewis led the Wildcats with 11 kills on .375 hitting. Cat Young followed with seven kills and seven digs.
