MILWAUKEE, Wis.- Marquette Volleyball graduate student Hattie Bray was selected by the Grand Rapids Rise in the Major League Volleyball Draft on Monday afternoon.
Bray becomes the first student-athlete in program history to be drafted into Major League Volleyball, following the league's merger with the Pro Volleyball Federation earlier this year. She was chosen as the 25th overall pick in the fourth round.
A four-time All-BIG EAST honoree with the Golden Eagles, Bray anchored Marquette's front line all season with dominant play at the net. The middle blocker led the BIG EAST with 1.22 blocks per set and ranked fourth in hitting percentage at .373, finishing the regular season with 118 total blocks.
Bray is one of three BIG EAST volleyball student-athletes selected in Monday's draft, alongside Creighton's Ava Martin (No. 2 overall) and Kiara Reinhardt (No. 8 overall).
Bray joins former student-athlete Jenna Reitsma (2021-24) on the Rise, who was announced last week as the team's new director of volleyball operations. Jenna Rosenthal, a former Marquette Volleyball standout from 2014-18, recently signed with the Omaha Supernovas after spending the past two MLV seasons with the Columbus Fury (2024) and Atlanta Vibe (2025).
