#12 Creighton Wins 11th BIG EAST Volleyball Championship

Milwaukee, WI – Top-seeded Creighton swept second-seeded Xavier (25-19, 25-20, 25-20) to claim the 2025 BIG EAST Volleyball Championship presented by Jeep. The win marked the Bluejays’ 11th overall title, including their sixth consecutive, tying the BIG EAST Conference record for total Championship wins.

No. 12 Creighton earned the league’s automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Volleyball Tournament. The team’s opponent and schedule will be announced during the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The Bluejays improved to 25-5 (16-0), posting their second straight undefeated BIG EAST season. Their 11 Championship wins match the record set by Pitt in 2003.

The Musketeers moved to 26-4 (14-2) after setting a program record for total wins in Saturday’s semifinal.

The Championship Most Outstanding Player, Ava Martin, led the match with 17 kills on .444 hitting. Martin, the BIG EAST Player of the Year, also contributed eight digs and a block.

All-Tournament selection Jaya Johnson logged 12 kills on a match-high .647 hitting, posting five digs and one block. BIG EAST Setter of the Year and All-Tournament honoree Annalea Maeder led the contest with 46 assists, setting Creighton to .413 hitting – the fifth highest percentage in a BIG EAST tournament match ever.

Eloise Brandewie registered a match-best three blocks while teammate Sydney Breissinger led the afternoon with 14 digs.

All-Tournament honoree Anna Taylor paced Xavier with 13 kills on .348 hitting. Fellow All-Tournament selection Emma Grace added 10 kills with nine digs. Teammate Macy Hatkevich directed the Musketeer offense, logging 28 assists and nine digs.

Marquette middle blocker Hattie Bray and Villanova opposite hitter Taylor Lewis rounded out the All-Tournament team.
